My minimalistic interpretation of some of history's great celebrities. This also marks my return to painting in almost a quarter-of-a-century and my first time painting on stretched canvas. At the moment, this series of original paintings all measure 12 x 24 inches on 1½ inch gallery-style canvas.
Juxtapose
2006 - 2008
An exploration of how we interpret events based on the various prejudices and filters which we employ in our lifetimes. The series seeks to place the viewer in the position of narrator while acting as a sort of social inkblot in which our inner voice allows us to complete the story.
Obliquity
2006
An exploration of three dimensional space utilizing lines and shapes which never touch. Specifically, it explores the sense of depth and dimension that can be achieved even when creating a composition in which none of the visual elements actually come into contact with each other.
Women of Fashion
2006 - 2007
An ongoing series of prints dedicated to evoking a bygone era in women's fashion. The series is dedicated to the era of the 1940s, when women's fashion, in particular, was near its zenith in the past century.
Flora and Fauna
2005
An early series of black linocut prints which are individually hand-coloured with English watercolours. The series measures 6" x 6" and is beautifully displayed in 3" deep curio style frames.
