The artwork for the single-color logo is black by default because it represents the shadow areas of the image. By extension, the transparent areas of the image represent the highlights.
Therefore, always ensure that the background color is substantially lighter than the logo in order to maximize legibility and realism.
Most printers can output the logo in a color that you choose, rather than black. Again, try to choose a darker version of whatever color you prefer and print it on a lighter background.

The artwork for the full-color logo is designed to be printed as a CMYK image. Most printers should be able to accommodate this through one of the four file-types provided. To avoid potential printing issues, contact your printer to determine which file type will be most compatible with their technology.
While the full-colour badge offers good separation from the background color of the item being printed, it is still advisable to choose a background color that is lighter rather than darker. This allows the badge to project forward.
