This was my winning entry in the Spring 2025 International Miniature Challenge. 

The challenge was to create a land speeder that looked right at home in the Star Wars® universe. We were not being asked to replicate an existing design — rather, our creation should be a combination of kit bashing (incorporating found objects) and scratch building (fabricating from raw materials).

I decided to go the route of a land speeder truck — a heavy lift vehicle designed to transport valuable but massive cargo across hostile terrain — hence, the armament.

My model consists mostly of my grandchildren’s old Fisher Price® toys, as well as assorted mechanical and electronic pieces I had scrounged.

It was a fun build and I was particularly pleased to win the competition.
