Bob’s Burgers Homage
My sweetheart’s favourite streaming series is Bob’s Burgers, the animated story of a lovingly dysfunctional family that we have both come to find quite relatable. It now functions as the ambient background noise in our home.
With her birthday fast approaching, I decided to create my first Framed Facade around the theme of her beloved show.
This was a particular challenge trying to keep this project a secret from her given that my workspace is in the open area of our home.
As a result, I hid the slender work-in-progress behind a stack of chipboard each day before she arrived home from work. In this way, over the course of a few weeks, I was able to prepare an appropriate birthday surprise for my beloved.
The look on her face when she first saw what I had created for her was all the compensation, bonus and benefit I could have ever expected from such a venture. It was truly time well spent and now, the restaurant hangs on our wall, right next to the TV.
